Business Development Associate

Description

Who are we?
We are a health technology startup building the search and data infrastructure for digital health systems of tomorrow. Our mission is simple, but the environment which we specialize in is complex.

We power enterprise-scale health organizations and healthtech startups to improve and optimize access to health care & support across North America and Europe. At our heart, we are a product & technology driven organization, and we look for people who share our vision leveraging technology to solve and scale some of the most impactful operational challenges in healthcare.

To support the next stage of our growth, we’re looking for a commercially curious, execution-minded individual to join us as the CEO’s right hand in business development. As our Business Development Associate, you’ll play a critical role in keeping our go-to-market motion running smoothly — from managing the rhythm of our sales pipeline to enabling the CEO to focus on the highest-leverage conversations. This is an opportunity to get in early, contribute meaningfully, and help shape how Clinia builds and scales its sales engine.

What are we looking for?
We look for people who stand out and make us better. We want someone who brings their whole self to work, who’s deeply passionate about what they do, and who’s excited to contribute to a culture rooted in curiosity, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

We’re building something that matters, and we want teammates who care deeply—about the mission, the craft, and the people they work with.

While we embrace remote work, we have a strong preference for applicants who are currently residing in Montreal.

Your role
We’re looking for a highly organized, detail-oriented, and proactive operator to help amplify the CEO’s business development efforts. In this role, you’ll work side-by-side with our Founder & CEO to help drive our most strategic go-to-market conversations — ensuring he can focus on relationship-building, vision, and high-leverage strategy, while you lead the preparation, follow-ups, and execution required to keep momentum high and deals moving forward.

You’ll act as an extension of the CEO across our business development and sales motions — digging into research, coordinating meetings, tracking pipeline progress, capturing insights, and making sure no detail falls through the cracks. While this role offers a front-row seat to high-level strategy, its true impact, lies in execution: bringing discipline and structure to fast-moving, high-stakes conversations that drive the business forward.

This is a rare opportunity for someone with 1–3 years of experience in sales or a sales-adjacent function (BDR, SDR, AE, RevOps, or BD) who wants to work closely with a seasoned founder on building out a new go-to-market motion from the ground up. You’ll learn how strategic partnerships are built, how enterprise deals are shaped, and how founders sell — all while playing a critical role in helping Clinia scale.

As the Business Development Associate, you can expect to:
  • Work directly with the CEO on building and executing a new go-to-market motion;
  • Join sales and exploratory meetings with prospective partners and clients;
  • Capture key insights and synthesize takeaways to inform follow-ups and strategic decisions;
  • Manage our CRM and ensure pipeline hygiene and deal progression;
  • Take ownership of behind-the-scenes execution — identifying next steps, tracking momentum, and helping drive deals forward;
  • Collaborate with the CEO and broader GTM team to coordinate actions, timelines, and outcomes;
  • Plan, draft, and execute strategic outreach campaigns to target accounts and partners;
  • Represent Clinia at industry events and support field-based relationship building;
  • (Bonus) Bring familiarity with the U.S. healthcare market and its commercial dynamics.

In terms of skills, you should have:
  • Emerging sales intuition and a natural orientation toward client needs;
  • Strong organizational skills and clear, confident communication — both written and verbal;
  • A proactive mindset and a bias for action;
  • Project management chops to keep workstreams aligned and deals moving;
  • Familiarity with CRM tools (e.g. HubSpot) and comfort managing data and pipelines;
  • Flexibility to adapt to evolving client needs and a dynamic industry landscape;
  • The ability to thrive in a fast-paced, startup environment with shifting priorities;
  • (Bonus) Knowledge of the U.S. health tech market and its commercial landscape;
  • (Bonus) Experience working in a startup or VC-backed company;
  • Full professional fluency in English (written and spoken).

If you have other skills that you think would be a plus for the team, we are of course very curious to hear from you.
